Krysten Dorman serves as the Board Chair of the St. Paul Animal Services Alliance (SPASA), where she provides strategic leadership in support of the organization's mission to strengthen the lifesaving work of St. Paul Animal Services and build a more compassionate community for animals and the people who care for them. A lifelong animal advocate, Krysten has spent years volunteering with and serving on the boards of animal welfare nonprofits. She believes that lasting change is made possible through strong partnerships, thoughtful leadership, and the collective efforts of dedicated volunteers, donors and community members. As Board Chair, Krysten is committed to advancing SPASA's vision by expanding resources for lifesaving programs, fostering community engagement, and ensuring the organization remains a trusted and sustainable partner to St. Paul Animal Services. She is honored to work alongside a passionate team committed to creating brighter futures for animals and strengthening the human-animal bond throughout the community.

Dr. Julie Steller is a co-founder (along with Krysten) of SPASA. Dr. Steller has been working with SPAS since early 2021 and felt there was a need for a "friends of" type organization for St. Paul Animal Control since it is near and dear to her heart. Dr. Steller has extensive experience in the rescue, shelter and animal control world, in addition to working in general practice and formally teaching vet techs and veterinary students. In her spare time she enjoys learning about the financial markets, watching the Vikings games, occasionally baking and camping and travel. She has two feline furry family members, Maestro and Monarch who adore her and the feeling is mutual.

Leslie Day serves on the Board of the St. Paul Animal Services Alliance (SPASA), where she supports the organization's mission to strengthen the lifesaving work of St. Paul Animal Services and build a more compassionate community for animals and the people who care for them. Leslie spent her childhood weekends volunteering at local animal shelters in Texas, Wisconsin and Minnesota. Since 2010 has fostered dozens of dogs, guinea pigs, rats, and sometimes turtles with several Minnesota rescues. She believes that rescues and animal shelters serve a critical role in society by ensuring that we treat our companion animals with respect and humane treatment. Before joining the Board of SPASA, Leslie spent the last 10 years visiting St. Paul Animal Services weekly to meet, temperament test and network all their stray and unclaimed animals with local Minnesota rescues, ensuring as many as possible found their forever home. St. Paul Animal Services holds a special place in her heart due to the staff's commitment to providing humane treatment for all animals; it is the driving force behind Leslie's choice to join SPASA, where she continues to support SPAS as they move to a new facility and develop and expanding lifesaving programs for the St. Paul community.
